SVG vs PNG (for print)

SVG is a vector format that stays crisp at any size, making it the right choice for printing QR codes large; PNG is a fixed-resolution image best for screens and small print.

A PNG is a grid of pixels at a set resolution; blow it up past that and the edges go soft. An SVG describes the code as shapes, so it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a billboard. For anything that prints big, export the SVG.

For QR codes specifically, vector matters: soft module edges are a top cause of failed scans on posters and signs. TangoQR offers both formats, PNG for screens and quick use, SVG for print artwork. See why a QR code looks blurry when printed.
